In a conversation with a fellow queer huemyn, we concluded that if a so called friend actively refuses to follow one's pronoun preferences, it's not only an act of erasure and disrespect, it is as though that person knows you are allergic to peanuts and yet insists on feeding them to you right there and then as they and everyone else watch you have a painful reaction.
